The Prairie Fire lost a pair of matches at the University of Dubuque Triangular September 7 in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Prairie Fire came back to win the third game, 25-20, after losing the first two 16-25, 12-25. Knox was unable to extend the match against the Spartans, who outscored the Fire 25-17 in the fourth game to claim the victory.
Senior Kelly Ricketts (Galesburg, Illinois) had a match-high 13 kills for Knox and added 10 digs. Sophmore Kaylie Prince (Westminster, Colorado) had a strong all-around effort with 10 kills, 10 digs, two service aces, and she assisted on a block.
Senior Lisa Blagg (Winthrop Harbor, Illinois), pictured above right, led Knox with 20 assists to go along with an ace and a pair of digs.
Junior Kristin McDonald (Chicago, Illinois) had three of the Prairie Fire's eight service aces in the match. She also had seven digs. Junior Britt Wisniewski (Park Ridge, Illinois) paced her team with 15 digs and matched Prince with a pair of aces.
Dubuque improved to 4-1 win the victory.

Edgewood posted scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-13 to earn the sweep.
Ricketts had seven kills to lead the Prairie Fire, who managed 19 in the match while Edgewood had 32 kills. Ricketts also chipped in with three digs.
Blagg had a match-high 16 assists at setter and contributed five digs. Prince, the Fire's second-leading hitter, added four kills and six digs. First-year hitter Katie White (Peoria, Illinois) had a season-high four kills. McDonald tallied three kills and two digs.
Blagg, Ricketts and McDonald each had a service ace for Knox while Ricketts and senior Stef Baker (Galesburg, Illinois) assisted on a block.
Edgewood moved to 3-2 on the season. The Prairie Fire (0-5) will try again for a win at the Wartburg College Invitational September 9-10 in Waverly, Iowa.
The tournament features two nationally ranked teams -- St. Olaf College (#21) and host Wartburg (#24). Knox meets St. Olaf first on September 9 at 3:30 p.m.
