Galesburg, IL – The Prairie Fire hoped to start a new winning streak against Illinois College but Mother Nature had other plans.
Knox (5-4-1, 1-2-1 MWC), coming off a 4-1 loss on September 29 at Grinnell College that snapped a string of three straight wins, was denied the chance to get back on track against the Blueboys because of thunder and lightning that ended the women’s match at 83:26.
IC (5-5-2, 0-3-1 MWC) came in looking to break a string of three consecutive losses and win its first MWC contest against the Prairie Fire, who hasn’t beaten the Blueboys since a 4-1 victory in 2007 in Galesburg.
The match was postponed shortly after 4:00 p.m. A make-up date had not been determined as of late Thursday afternoon.
