New Berlin, WI – The Prairie Fire had a tough day on the road against Carroll University, falling 8-1 on Sunday in a non-conference match.

First-year Walter Palmer (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) provided Knox its only win of the day at #6 singles.  He defeated Matthew Joost of the Pioneers 4-6, 6-2, 9-7 to improve to 4-0 on the season in singles play.

The Prairie Fire’s other undefeated singles player coming in, junior David Ham (Lakewood, WA, Shadow Ridge), lost in the #5 flight 6-3, 6-3.

All three doubles matches were close, but Carroll (3-0) prevailed 8-5 (#1 flight), 8-6 (#2 flight), and 8-6 (#3 flight).

The Prairie Fire (2-2) is back in action on February 25 with a pair of non-conference matches against Ashford University and Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.  Knox plays Ashford at 12:00 p.m. and Loras at 3:00 p.m.
