Galesburg, IL – The Knox College and Illinois College football coaching staffs are teaming up off the field to generate assistance for a charitable organization.

The Prairie Fire and the Blueboys are playing their game on Saturday, October 26 in Jacksonville in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois.

All fans, students, and alumni of Knox and IC are encouraged to bring items to the game to donate to benefit the charity.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois provides a home away from home for families with children receiving medical care in Springfield.

The charity is near and dear to the heart of Illinois College head football coach Garrett Campbell, a long-time friend of Knox head coach Damon Tomeo.  Coach Campbell and his wife saw the positive impact Ronald McDonald House can have when their third child, Carter James Campbell, was born two month premature at St. John's Hospital in Springfield earlier this fall.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois needs many basic household items that can be purchased inexpensively at virtually all stores.  Those items include paper towels, fabric softener, and dryer sheets.

A complete "Wish List" of items needed by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois is available by clicking here

Representatives from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois and members of the IC football team will be on hand to help collection the donations before the game on the Tiller Balcony that overlooks Sherman Gym, just inside the main entrance of the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center.

Next year when Illinois College travels to play Knox at the Knosher Bowl, the Prairie Fire will chose a charity meaningful to them and Galesburg – and those efforts will be supported by IC.

Saturday's game at Illinois College, which kicks off at 1:00 p.m., will be streamed live online at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/ic.portal#
