Box Score Waukesha, WI – The Prairie Fire hoped to damage Carroll University's chances of qualifying for a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament. The Pioneers, however, wouldn't let that happen in a 5-0 victory against Knox at home on Saturday.
Carroll (9-7, 5-3 MWC) is one conference point behind fourth place Lake Forest College in the standings with two regular season league contests remaining.
The Prairie Fire (6-10, 0-8 MWC) fell behind early and couldn't recover. The Pioneers scored four of their goals in the first 20 minutes of the match and added the fifth 18 seconds before the intermission.
Carroll outshot Knox 19-2 overall, including 12-1 on goal.

Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) had seven saves in goal for the Prairie Fire.
Knox has a short turnaround with another Midwest Conference match at Beloit College on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The Buccaneers (2-13-1, 0-7-1) fell 2-0 against Illinois College at home on Saturday, their fourth straight loss.
