Jacksonville, IL – Illinois College got off to a fast start against the Prairie Fire and posted a 5-0 Midwest Conference win at home on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Blues took a 1-0 lead on a goal 10:15 into the match and added two more over the next 9:29 and held a 3-0 advantage at the intermission.

IC (6-6-2, 2-3-1 MWC) outshot Knox 15-1 in the first period and 23-2 overall.  The Lady Blues added goals in the 65th minute and 81st minute to conclude the scoring in the match.

Senior Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) had eight saves in goal for the Prairie Fire (5-7, 0-5 MWC).

Knox steps out of conference for a road match at Eureka College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00.  The Red Devils (3-7) have dropped two of three after falling to Spalding University 3-1 on October 5 at home.
