Monmouth, IL – The Prairie Fire lost their final regular season conference match at Monmouth College on Saturday.

Knox fell 7-2 against the Fighting Scots to conclude Midwest Conference South Division play.  The Prairie Fire (7-11, 1-2 MWC South) will host Coe College in their last regular season match and home finale on April 24 at 3:00 p.m.  The Kohawks (24-0) are ranked in the top ten in the ITA Central Region.

Winning matches for Knox against Monmouth (8-8, 2-1 MWC South) were sophomore Walter Palmer (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) and first-year Pragyaditya Mukerjee (Kolkata, India, The Cambridge School).

Palmer won by default at #1 singles against Monmouth’s Chris Franco.  Mukerjee defeated Alex King 6-1, 6-4 in their #5 singles match.

The Prairie Fire travel to Madison, Wisconsin for the Midwest Conference Championships on April 27 and 28. 

The singles championships are held on the first, followed by the doubles championships.  Both events will take place at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the University of Wisconsin campus.
