Galesburg, Ill. – The Prairie Fire swimming and indoor track and field teams will not be competing this weekend as originally planned.

Knox was scheduled to visit Beloit College for a swimming dual on Saturday, the final event before the Midwest Conference Championships.  The indoor track and field squads expected to take part in the Illinois Wesleyan Titan Open.

However, a winter storm moving through the region is preventing the Prairie Fire teams from traveling.

The storm, which the National Weather Service said could produce up to eight inches of snow, has made travel hazardous.

The NWS earlier on Friday issued a winter storm warning for the Galesburg and surrounding areas between 9:00 this evening and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
