MONMOUTH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire swimming and diving teams competed at Monmouth on Saturday.
Knox was able to honor seniors Chloe Rodeffer and Joe Pederson before the competition for Senior Day.
Rodeffer is a senior from Galesburg, Illinois and was joined by her parents Kevin and Rebecca. Chloe is majoring in Biology and plans to apply for internships in the DNR and eventually get a master's in Conservation Biology.
"The comradeship at Knox is so strong and I've made friends that will last a lifetime," said Rodeffer.
Pederson is a senior from Roswell, Georgia and is studying Computer Science and Public Policy. He plans on pursuing a career in Computer Science.
"I really enjoyed spending time with the swimming and diving team here at Knox," said Pederson.
Pederson picked up second place finishes in the men's 200 free (2:03.99) and 100 fly (1:03.95).
Etienne Thomas placed first in the men's 100 fly (1:02.63) third in the men's 50 free (25.20).
John Peterson earned a second place finish in the men's 100 free with a time of 1:10.41.
Ren Herzog finished third in the men's 100 free with a time of 1:25.69.
Frederick Ryan picked up a third place finish in the men's 100 breast (1:14.60).
Taylor Scamman placed second in the women's 50 free (27.03) and 100 back (1:08.28).
Rodeffer earned a third place finish in the women's 200 IM with a time of 3:01.25.
Rachel Schonfeld finished third in the women's 100 back (1:13.82).
Kiely Thompson placed third in the women's 100 breast with a time of 1:25.65.
"It was great to get to honor Joe and Chloe before the meet," said head coach Kim Schrader. "Both of them had good days in the pool and it was a great day overall for Knox swimming and diving."
Knox returns to action on February 4 as they travel to Beloit in their final tuneup before the Midwest Conference Championships from February 17-19.
