Knox's #2 doubles team of junior
Jonathan Ng (Hong Kong, China, Hong Kong International School) and sophomore
Dustin Loch (Glen Ellyn, IL, Glenbard West) posted a 9-7 win over Carroll's Eric Schneider and Alexander Reid.
Sophomore
Pragyaditya Mukerjee (Kolkata, India, The Cambridge School) made Schneider work for every point in their #4 singles match. Mukerjee forced a first set tiebreaker before Schneider pulled away 7-6 (8-6). Schneider went on to win the second set 6-4.
Junior
Walter Palmer (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) was unable to pick up his third consecutive #1 singles victory. He fell 6-4, 6-2 against the Pioneers' Jack Michael.
Ng also had a tight first set in his #3 singles match with Nick Schultz. Schultz outscored Ng 7-5 and then prevailed 6-2 in the second set.
Carroll improved its record to 7-10 overall with the win while the Prairie Fire fell to 5-14.
Knox resumes play at Quincy University on April 13 at 11:00 a.m.
