Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa - The Prairie Fire fell behind early and couldn't muster enough offense in a 3-0 Midwest Conference road loss on Saturday.
The Pioneers (4-3, 1-0 MWC) grabbed a 1-0 lead on a goal 10:14 into the match and then clamped down on the defensive end to win for the third straight time.

Kelsie PosKnox (2-5, 0-1 MWC), trying to win back-to-back matches for the first time this season, faced a 2-0 deficit at the break after Grinnell scored again just before the 30:00 mark.
The Prairie Fire could only get off one shot in the first half while trying to fend off six by the Pioneers.
Grinnell ramped up its attack after the intermission and fired another 17 shots, including six at Knox sophomore goalkeeper 
Theresa Birzer (Fort Dodge, IA, Fort Dodge), who finished with six saves.
The Pioneers scored their last goal at the 53:57 mark and held the Prairie Fire scoreless the rest of the way.
Knox finished with four shots. First-year 
Kayla Brown (Sacramento, CA, Wilton Christian), playing for the first time this season, led with three while first-year 
Kelsie Pos (Salt Lake City, UT, Skyline) fired a shot that was on target but saved by Grinnell keeper Devon Manley.
Knox has a quick turnaround before the next league contest. The Prairie Fire welcome Monmouth College to Jorge Prats Field on Tuesday, September 23. The start time is 4:30 p.m.
Knox won its only home game to date, an 
8-0 victory against Eureka College on September 11.
