DE PERE, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire dropped a hard fought game at St. Norbert College, losing 1-0.
Knox (10-2-2, 3-1-2 MWC) was unable to break through the Knight's defense all day. The only goal of the game came off a penalty kick in the 25th minute, but from then on the Fire played tremendous defense. Goalkeeper Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) recorded five saves on the day, insuring that the rest of Norbert's 10 shots did not reach the goal.
Other than the early penalty kick, the game was clean and hard fought by both teams.
Jen Crary (Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley) had six shots during the game, leading the team. Yvette Rodriguez (Ontario, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) recorded five shots of her own and Sarah Texter (Redlands, CA, Redlands East Valley) and Rachel Braun (Livermore, CA, Granada) each added two. Although the Fire were unable to record a goal, the offense was still very alive and ready to strike.
The Fire will look to get back to their winning ways on October 17 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, against Carroll University.
