WAUKESHA, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire dropped a 3-0 contest to Carroll on Saturday.
Knox (10-3-2, 3-2-2 MWC) remains in fourth place in the conference standings.
The Pioneers got on the board early, scoring just 7:52 into the match. Carroll scored again before the half to take a 2-0 lead.
The score remained the same until the Pioneers added their final goal at the 74:15 mark.
The Prairie Fire lost despite outshooting Carroll 15-6 and having more shots on goal. The Pioneers, on the other hand, made the most of their chances, converting on three of their five shots on goal.
Kayla Brown (Roseville, CA, Wilton Christian) and
Jen Crary (Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley) each had two shots on goal to lead the Prairie Fire.
Knox will look to rebound on Sunday as they take on Beloit in a matchup that will have big impact in the conference race.
