GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire dropped two games over the weekend to conference foes Lawrence and St. Norbert to fall out of first place in the conference standings.
Knox (9-13, 4-2 MWC) battled back to win sets two and four against Lawrence, but came up just short in the final set. In the St. Norbert match, the Prairie Fire played some close sets but could not quite get the edge.
Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis) racked up 25 kills over the course of the two games to lead the Prairie Fire.
Nicole Heckman (Chicago, IL, Chicago Latin) added seven blocks and
Casey Stachelski (Joliet, IL, Plainfield Central) amassed 66 assists.
Jakeiyah Triplett (Chicago, IL, Westinghouse) also had a team-high 48 digs.
Knox will look to rebound on Tuesday when they travel to Mount Vernon, Iowa, to take on Cornell at 7:00 p.m.
