MONMOUTH, Illinois—The Prairie Fire lost a hard fought match against Monmouth, losing 2-1.
Knox (11-4-2, 4-3-2 MWC) remained in fourth place in the Midwest Conference standings after their loss at Monmouth. The Scots broke through first with a goal in the 25th minute. The Prairie Fire, however, rallied back with a goal by
Sarah Texter (Redlands, CA, Redlands East Valley) in the 39th minute. The goal was assisted by
Jacqui Tousley (San Diego, CA, Westview). The Scots came out of halftime and scored what would turn out to be the game-winning goal in the 49th minute.
Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) recorded 6 saves on the day for the Fire, doing her best to counter the Monmouth offensive.
Knox will look to rebound when they return home on October 31 against Cornell College.
