JACKSONVILLE, Illinois—The Prairie Fire fell to Illinois College 59-13 on the road.
 
Knox (3-5, 1-3 MWC) fell behind 22-0 before battling back to a 36-13 deficit at halftime. The Blueboys then reeled off 23 unanswered points in the second half.
 
The Prairie Fire totaled 140 yards on the ground and 130 yards through the air. Matt McCaffrey (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) found the endzone with a 40-yard rush to put Knox on the board. McCaffrey then hit an open Mathew Hemmingsen (Galesburg, IL, Carl Sandburg College) with a seven-yard touchdown pass to close out the first half.
 
The Prairie Fire fumbled four times in the second half, losing two of them. Illinois College also picked up two points from a safety.
 
McCaffrey completed 16-of-25 passes for 105 yards and added 52 yards on the ground. He passed for a touchdown and ran for a touchdown. Nick Edlund (St. Charles, IL, Aurora Christian) added 44 yards on the ground and Jared Zanger (Quincy, IL, Quincy) added another 42 yards. Ilir Emini (Yorkville, IL, Yorkville) caught 10 passes for 69 yards. Sam Coffey (Winnetka, IL, New Trier) led Knox with nine total tackles, Logan Hollis (Toulon, IL, Stark County) and Tyler Podwojski (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) added eight apiece. Podwojski also added a sack.
 
Knox will look to bounce back when they return home on November 7 for the Bronze Turkey game against Monmouth College.
