GALESBURG, Illinois—It's déjà vu all over again as the Prairie win back-to-back Midwest Conference games this weekend 1-0. With the win, Knox takes sole possession of first place in the Midwest Conference.
Knox (10-1-2, 3-0-2 MWC) defeated Lawrence University 1-0 with a goal from Sydney Fretwell (Mission Viejo, CA, Mission Viejo), her first of the season. Knox outshot Lawrence 21-6 but could only find the back of the net on Fretwell's long shot from the right in the 38th minute of the match.
First-year goalkeeper Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) earned her second shutout in a row and her third for the season, having to stop just two shots on goal.
Knox will take their 11-match unbeaten streak up to De Pere, Wisconsin, next Sunday, where they will face St. Norbert College at 11:00 a.m.
