GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire defeated Blackburn 81-73 on Tuesday night in their season opener.

Knox (1-0) trailed 34-31 at halftime, but shot 53.8 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from long-range in the second half to put the Beavers away.

Braden Adams (Mount Vernon, MO, Mount Vernon) led a balanced Prairie Fire offense with 16 points, hitting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) added 15 points, DJ Lewis (Chino Hills, CA, Chino Hills) had 13 points, and Deandre Weathersby (Chicago, IL, Kenwood Academy) scored 10 points. Grant Billimack (Metamora, IL, Metamora) scored six points, grabbed a team-high six rebounds, and dished out a team-leading five assists.

Knox travels to Iowa Wesleyan on November 28 at 3:00 p.m.
