GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire battled back from a 12-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to force an overtime and eventually win 87-83.

Knox (2-0) and the Beavers were tied 33-33 at halftime, but the Prairie Fire fell behind for most of the second half before tying it again at 66-66 with 3:53 left in the fourth quarter. Blackburn and Knox battled back and forth for the rest of the fourth quarter, but Knox again fell behind by three with only nine seconds left. Hailey Leinart (Gurnee, IL, Warren Township) nailed a three-pointer to force overtime. The Prairie Fire scored on the first possession of overtime and never trailed again.

Jamie Blue (Urbana, IL, University) finished with a game-high 22 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. She hit 14-of-16 free throw attempts to keep the Prairie Fire in the game. Leinart added 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Jasmine Binion (Davenport, IA, Assumption) scored 14 points and tallied six boards. Saundra Gavazzi (Gilbert, AZ, Chandler) also added 13 points on 3-of-8 from beyond the arc. Knox forced a massive 57 Beaver turnovers to score 47 points off turnovers.

The Prairie Fire return home on November 28 to take on Fontbonne at 2:00 p.m.
