CHICAGO, Illinois—The Prairie Fire fell behind early in an 80-63 loss to Illinois Institute of Technology on Friday night.
Knox (1-5) found themselves down 10-0 just over a minute and a half into the game thanks to three early turnovers. The Prairie Fire chipped away at the deficit for most of the first half, but were down by 10 again at halftime. Midway through the second half the Scarlet Hawks began pulling away again and never looked back.
Sharing team-high scoring figures for Knox were
Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) and
Robert Suntken (Naperville, IL, Naperville Central), each tallying 13 points.
Deandre Weathersby (Chicago, IL, Kenwood Academy) contributed six assists and four steals, while Marko Protic led the Prairie Fire with five rebounds.
Knox will return home on December 14 for a makeup game with Dominican. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.
