GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire lost to Dominican 83-75 at home on Monday night.
Knox (1-6) led for a good portion of the second half, but could not finish after the Stars went on a 14-7 run starting with 12:14 left to play. The Prairie Fire battled back to within five points with 24 seconds left after trailing by 12 with just over a minute to play. Dominican was able to hit their free-throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) led Knox with 22 points and added eight rebounds.
Marcellis Davis (Chicago, IL, Curie) hit 4-of-6 from long-range to finish with 14 points and
Robert Suntken (Naperville, IL, Naperville Central) reached double figures with 10 points on the night.
Grant Billimack (Metamora, IL, Metamora) grabbed a team-high 11 boards and dished out seven assists to go along with eight points.
Knox will look to head into their break with a win on December 16 when they travel to Eureka.
