LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire played a hard fought game against the Foresters but were unable to come back from a 16-point deficit in the second half.
Knox (1-3, 0-2 MWC) played well against Lake Forest College, taking their first lead of the game came off a three by
Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) with 9:55 left in the first half. The Prairie Fire's largest lead came with 6:02 left in the first half when
Braden Adams (Mount Vernon, MO, Mount Vernon) sunk a three pointer to put them up by six. Lake Forest hit a bucket to finish the half to go up by two and never relinquished their lead. Knox found themselves down by as many as 16 points with 4:34 left in the game. A three to finish the game by Caleb Herrera brought the deficit to eight with a final score of 86-78.
Adams led the Prairie Fire with 18 points, Herrera added 17. Deandre Weathersby dished out 5 assists and scored nine points, while Marko Protic grabbed eight boards.
Knox will return to action on December 8 at Illinois College.
