JACKSONVILLE, Illinois—The Prairie Fire played well down the stretch, but came up just short against Illinois College on Tuesday night.
Knox (1-4, 0-3 MWC) led by as many as 10 points early in the first half, but trailed the Blueboys 40-37 at halftime. The score went back and forth throughout the second half, but the teams scored 45 points apiece to keep the three-point deficit from halftime intact.
Robert Suntken (Naperville, IL, Naperville Central) led all scorers with 19 points, but
Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) was the only other member of the Prairie Fire to break double-digits with his 12 points.
Grant Billimack (Metamora, IL, Metamora) scored eight points and grabbed a game-high nine boards.
The Prairie Fire will look to end their four-game slide when they travel to Chicago on December 11 to take on Illinois Institute of Technology.
