Knox played its previous six matches away from home and hoped for a better result against Adrian (6-2), a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The Bulldogs followed up a strong season in 2014 (14 wins and first-ever spot in the MIAA tournament) with five wins in their first six matches this year.

Walter Palmer (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) took Adrian's Brandon Broom to three sets in their #1 singles match. Broom prevailed 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 to snap Palmer's streak of four straight singles victories.

Karl Ruzgas (Downers Grove, IL, Downers Grove North) put up a fight at #1 doubles but couldn't overcome Joey Loselle and Michael Mertz in an 8-6 loss.
The Prairie Fire play an exhibition match at Elgin Community College on Sunday before squaring off against five opponents in Orlando, Florida during spring break.
