ResultsMACOMB, Illinois – The Prairie Fire competed against athletes representing NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA schools last Friday and Saturday in the Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational hosted by Western Illinois University.

Two throwers and a long-distance runner for Knox set new personal-best marks during the meet, which was only scored for the participating NCAA Division I teams: Western, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, and Bradley.
Sophomore
Jessica Fritts (Scottsdale, AZ, Foothills Academy) recorded a hammer throw distance of 115' 4" to move up to #6 on the Knox women's all-time top 10 individual list for the event. Fritts topped her previous best throw (98' 3") by a whopping 17 feet.
Junior
Brennan Mc Glauchlen (Inver Grove Heights, MN, Simley) also established a new PR in the hammer. His toss of 130' 6" ranks #6 on the men's top 10 individual list.
First-year runner
Rebecca Katz (Columbia, MO, David H. Hickman) shaved nearly nine seconds off her fastest time in the 5000 meters. She finished the 5K race at WIU in 19:50.44, which ranks #8 on the top 10 individual list.
Junior
Brian Cole (Warson Woods, MO, Webster Groves) fared well in the men's 5K race, placing sixth out of 17 runners in a time of 16:26.99.
Up next for the Prairie Fire is the University of Dubuque Invite on Saturday, April 18.
