MONMOUTH, Illinois—The Prairie Fire dropped a road contest at Monmouth on Tuesday night.
Knox (1-15, 0-11) fell behind 24-9 with 6:10 left in the first half, but mounted a comeback to trail by seven at halftime. The Prairie Fire kept pace with the Fighting Scots for much of the second half until Monmouth pulled away for good in the final minute.
Braden Adams (Mount Vernon, MO, Mount Vernon) scored a career-high 23 points and
Caylab Herrera (Middletown, DE, Middletown) added 20 points of his own. Herrera also led Knox with six rebounds and two blocked shots.
The Prairie Fire will have a rematch with Lawrence when they return home for basketball homecoming on January 30.
