Women's Soccer Records Perfect Conference Record

GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team continued their historic season with a 2-0 victory over St. Norbert.

Knox (17-0-1, 9-0-0) finished the regular season with a perfect record in Midwest Conference play with the only blemish on their overall record a tie with Coe earlier in the season.  Going into the week the women led the nation in shutout percentage (.882) and goals against average (.116) as well as being ranked top-5 nationally in won-lost-tied percentage (.971) and save percentage (.947). They are currently ranked fourth in the North Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and were previously ranked 25th in the nation.

Knox and the Green Knights took a scoreless tie into halftime before Knox broke through with a goal in the 77th minute. Annie Peterson (Iowa City, IA, West) assisted Rosie Medina (Carlsbad, CA, Carlsbad) for the score. Medina turned around and assisted on a Kayla Brown (Roseville, CA, Wilton Christian) goal with less than four minutes remaining to seal the win.

The Prairie Fire will look to continue their stellar play in the conference tournament, which they host on November 4 and 5.
