APPLETON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire volleyball squad fell to conference opponent Lawrence 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Knox (4-17, 1-3 MWC) led early in the first set, but the Vikings used a 7-0 run to take an 11-6 lead. The Prairie Fire battled back to a 19-22 deficit, but Lawrence was able to finish strong taking the first set 25-20. The second set was more of the same with the two teams battling back and forth early and the Vikings pulling away to win 25-16. In set three the Prairie Fire jumped out to a 7-1 lead, but this time Lawrence battled back and took the set 25-22.
Keiyah Triplett (Chicago, IL, Westinghouse) racked up 22 digs to lead the Prairie Fire, while
Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) picked up 11 kills.
Rachael Powell (Indianapolis, IN, Lawrence Central) added 14 assists and two service aces.
The Prairie Fire return home on October 11 to take on Cornell.
