RIVER FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team fell to Dominican 83-73 on Tuesday night.
Knox (0-2) took an early 8-2 lead, but the Stars battled back to take a 39-30 lead at halftime. The Prairie Fire got to within five points a few times in the second half, but would get no closer.
Knox had a balanced attack with four scorers in the double digits, while Dominican relied on two guys for 54 of their points.
Robert Suntken (Naperville, IL, Naperville Central) paced the Prairie Fire with 17 points, while
Marko Protic (Niles, IL, Maine East) added 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Eric Thompson (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) and
Deandre Weathersby (Chicago, IL, Kenwood Academy) each contributed 11 points. Thompson also tied for the team lead with eight rebounds.
Knox returns to action on November 26 when they host Eureka.
