GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team suffered defeat at the hands of Eureka for the second time this season.
Knox (1-2) only trailed 22-21 after the first quarter, but the Red Devils built up a 10-point lead by halftime. The Prairie Fire kept the game close throughout most of the second half, but Eureka pulled away in the end to earn an 88-71 victory.
Kyra Huffman (Sacramento, CA, St. Francis) led Knox with 17 points and added five rebounds.
Jarrelyn McCall (Lonoke, AR, Lonoke) tacked on 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out five assists.
Morgan Potter (Huntington Beach, CA, Huntington Beach) also racked up 11 points.
Knox returns home on December 2 to begin conference play against St. Norbert.
