GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team fell in their conference opener 66-42 to St. Norbert on Friday night.

Knox (1-3, 0-1 MWC) fell behind 13-4 early in the game, but battled back to a 13-10 deficit at 5:08 in the first quarter. The Green Knights forged back ahead, but the Prairie Fire again got to within three points with 1:08 left in the quarter and only trailed by five at the end of the period. St. Norbert stretched their lead to 16 points early in the second quarter and held a 42-27 advantage by halftime. The Green Knights added to their lead in the third and fourth quarter to claim victory.

Jarrelyn McCall (Lonoke, AR, Lonoke) led the Prairie Fire with 10 points and Morgan Potter (Huntington Beach, CA, Huntington Beach) added nine of her own. Kyra Huffman (Sacramento, CA, St. Francis) and Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) each tallied a team-high six rebounds.

Knox faces another conference match-up as they host Lawrence on December 3.
