GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire are headed to their first NCAA Tournament after defeating Grinnell 1-0 in the Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Championship on Saturday.
 
After losing a heartbreaker in the championship game a season ago, Knox (19-0-1) took control after a scoreless first half. Kayla Brown (Roseville, CA, Wilton Christian) had a few open looks and converted on one just over five minutes into the second half when Bryssa Montez (Oceanside, CA, Mission Vista) found her on a forward pass.
 
Sierra Daniger picked up her 14^th clean sheet of the season and has only allowed two goals all season. The Prairie Fire defense is in the top-5 in the nation in goals against average, save percentage, shutout percentage, and won-lost-tied-percentage. 
 
The Prairie Fire will learn their NCAA Tournament fate at 12:30 on Monday afternoon.  The 2016 selection show will be broadcast online here.
