GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team fell to IIT 90-75 on Wednesday night.
Knox (1-8) kept pace with the Scarlet Hawks for much of the first half until an IIT three-pointer and three-point play gave the Scarlet Hawks six straight points. The Prairie Fire trailed by 10 at half-time and could not gain much ground in the second half. IIT shot 50 percent (9-of-18) from beyond the arc to score 27 of their points.
Jonathan Damota (Miami Springs, FL, Miami Springs) led Knox with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Jacob Kampf (Chesterfield, MO, Barat Academy) scored in the double digits in his second straight game with a career-high 12 points.
DJ Lewis (Chino Hills, CA, Chino Hills) added 11 points and
Marcellis Davis (Chicago, IL, Curie) pitched in 10 as well.
Knox will travel to Lawrence on January 2 in a return to conference action.
