APPLETON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a close one to Lawrence on Monday afternoon.

Knox (1-9, 1-4 MWC) held a 33-32 lead at halftime after a back and forth first half. Lawrence grabbed the lead early in the second half, but the Prairie Fire retook the lead for much of the half until the Vikings surged ahead with under five minutes to play. Lawrence pulled away in the final minutes to win 68-61.

Marko Protic (Niles, IL, Maine East) tallied a game-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He added five rebounds as well. Marcellis Davis (Chicago, IL, Curie) chipped in 13 points hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Jonathan Damota (Miami Springs, FL, Miami Springs) totaled 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Knox returns home to battle Cornell on January 7.
