GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team picked up a huge win over Monmouth on Wednesday night.
Knox (3-3, 2-1 MWC) used a strong second half to put away the Fighting Scots. Trailing 22-17 after the first quarter and 31-30 at halftime, the Prairie Fire outscored Monmouth 21-6 in the third quarter and held on for the victory. It was the third straight home win for Knox against the Fighting Scots.
Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) had her best game of the season with 14 points and 10 assists to pick up the double-double. She also added five rebounds.
Jarrelyn McCall (Lonoke, AR, Lonoke) led the Prairie Fire with 16 points and added five rebounds.
Kyra Huffman (Sacramento, CA, St. Francis) and
Morgan Potter (Huntington Beach, CA, Huntington Beach) each added 10 points as well.
Knox takes off for California for their next two games, playing on December 13 and 14.
