GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Westminster College in their home opener.

Jessica Petersen (Brooklyn Park, MN, Champlin Park) started the scoring for Knox with her second goal of the season at the 24:11 mark in the first half. She was assisted by Yvette Rodriguez (Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rancho Cucamonga). Kayla Brown (Roseville, CA, Wilton Christian) added her second goal of the season nearly 18 minutes into the second half. Jen Crary (Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley) picked up the assist.

Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) earned her first shutout of the season and now has seven career shutouts.

The Prairie Fire return home on September 5 to take on Wisconsin Lutheran.
