LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team suffered a tough loss at Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon. Knox (1-12, 1-7 MWC) came into their game against Lake Forest (7-6, 5-3 MWC) looking for a result similar to their matchup with Monmouth, however the actual result didn't turn out as well.
Marko Protic (Niles, IL, Maine East) finished with a double-double on the day with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Deryk Ruple (Kenosha, WI, Indian Trail) came off the bench to score 12 points of his own. Knox was leading in the game until 11 minutes left in the first half, but after they lost the lead they were never able to gain it back. The difference for Knox on the day came when they lost the battle of points in the paint and second chance points.
The Fire will try to get back on track in conference play when they take on Illinois College at home on January 18th.
