GALESBURG, Illinois— The Prairie Fire men's basketball team fell in a hard fought and energetic loss to Illinois College. Knox (1-13, 1-8 MWC) may have lost by 14 to Illinois College (4-10, 1-8 MWC) but it never felt like that much. Knox was knocking down tough shots and making plays and the energy in Memorial Gymnasium reflected how well the team was playing at times.
A total of four players scored in double digits for the Fire tonight.
Marko Protic (Niles, IL, Maine East) led the way with 15 points and 12 boards to give him a double-double.
Deandre Weathersby (Chicago, IL, Kenwood Academy) added 13 points on 6-of-11 from the floor. Meanwhile
Deryk Ruple (Kenosha, WI, Indian Trail) poured in 12 and
George Mosialos (Larissa, Greece, Mpakogiannis) turned in 10.
The Fire will look to get back on track in a road matchup against St. Norbert College on January 21st.
