APPLETON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team defeated Lawrence 75-57 on Monday afternoon.
Knox (6-4, 3-2 MWC) won their third straight game and third of their last four in the conference. The Vikings jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, but the Prairie Fire quickly tied it at 7-7 and held a 23-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. Lawrence cut Knox's lead to one early in the second quarter, but only scored four more points the rest of the quarter to trail 42-24 by halftime. Knox added four points to their lead in the third quarter, but gave them right back to the Vikings in the fourth to win by 18 points.
Jarrelyn McCall (Lonoke, AR, Lonoke) earned her first career double-double while leading the Prairie Fire with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Hailey Leinart (Gurnee, IL, Warren Township) added 12 points and
Karlie Thorn (Henderson, NV, Coronado) chipped in 10 points.
Carley Bechen (Eugene, OR, Churchill) also filled the stat sheet with nine points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Knox returns home to battle Cornell on January 7.
