GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team defeated MacMurray 89-74 on Saturday night.
Knox (2-0) trailed only briefly after the Highlanders scored first. The Prairie Fire took the lead for good with 7:42 left in the first quarter. By the end of the first quarter, Knox led 24-17 and by halftime led by 13. MacMurray gained some ground in the third quarter by outscoring the Prairie Fire 16-14, but Knox rallied to outscore the Highlanders 28-23 in the final stanza.
Jarrelyn McCall earned her second double-double in as many games with a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. She added six assists as well. Kyra Huffman tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds of her own. Karlie Thorn racked up 16 points and Morgan Potter ended with 14.
Knox will look to extend their hot start to the season when they host Fontbonne on November 26.
