Women's Soccer Advances to MWC Tournament Championship

DE PERE, Wisconsin - The Knox College women's soccer team advanced to their second consecutive Midwest Conference title game. After a 1-0 victory over Grinnell College, the Fire earned a bid to the championship match.

The Fire jumped ahead early when Rosie Medina found Corina Leyva in the 10th minute for her sixth goal of the season. The lone goal was all Knox needed as they defeated the Pioneers 1-0.

During the regular season the Prairie Fire captured their second straight Midwest Conference championship and second straight undefeated MWC slate with a 7-0-2 record (12-5-2 overall).  The Fire tied their own MWC record of only conceding one goal in conference play while outscoring their opponents 45-12 on the year.

Knox will take on rival Monmouth College in the Midwest Conference championship game on November 4 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Norbert College in an effort to win their second straight MWC Tournament and punch their ticket to the NCAA Regional.
