Women's Basketball Moves to 4-1 After Victory

APPLETON, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team picked up their first win in Midwest Conference play with a 68-58 win over Lawrence University.
 
Knox (4-1, 1-1 MWC) led the whole way in this except for ties at 2-2 and 7-7 early in the first quarter. By halftime, the Prairie Fire led 38-28 and at one point held a 13-point lead before settling for the 10-point victory.
 
Four of Knox's five starters put up double-digit points on the afternoon, including an outstanding performance from Jarrelyn McCall with 17 points, s rebounds and three assists. Kyra Huffman also added 12 points and eight rebounds and Karlie Thorn recorded 11 points and five assists. Morgan Potter added 11 points and five rebounds and Hailey Leinart had a solid game off the bench with nine points and four boards. Knox dominated the Vikings in points off turnovers, winning the battle 14-4. They also held the edge in second chance points 13-5.
 
Knox will look to carry their momentum into their game at rival Monmouth College on December 6.
