GALESBURG, Illinois— The Prairie Fire women's basketball team returned to their winning ways with a convincing 18-point win over the Bucs of Beloit College. Knox (13-8, 10-6 MWC) moved back into a tie for 4th place in the Midwest Conference with just two games remaining after their 69-51 win over Beloit (6-15, 4-12 MWC).
Karlie Thorn (Henderson, NV, Coronado) took over the scoring for the game, leading all players with 20 points, all off 3-point shots and free throws.
Hailey Leinart (Gurnee, IL, Warren Township) had a quality game as well with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Taliah Ellis (Chandler, AZ, Chandler) added 10 points and
Naja Woods (Minneapolis, MN, Southwest) poured in four points along with seven rebounds and four assists.
With two games remaining in conference play, Knox controls their own destiny to make the Midwest Conference playoffs. They host Grinnell College on February 14 in a must-win.
