MOUNT VERNON, Iowa—The men's basketball team fell to Cornell 80-57 on Saturday afternoon.
Knox (1-18, 1-13 MWC) trailed 47-33 at halftime, but made a comeback early in the second half to bring the score to within nine with 13:29 left to play. The Rams used a 6-0 run to regain their lead and never looked back to keep adding to their lead.
Jonathan Damota (Miami Springs, FL, Miami Springs) and
Marko Protic (Niles, IL, Maine East) each scored 14 points to lead the Prairie Fire. Protic added 10 rebound to complete his third double-double of the year.
Knox will travel to Grinnell on February 8 to continue their conference season.
