Women's Soccer Grabs Another MWC Win

GALESBURG, Illinois— The Prairie Fire women's soccer team yet again showed their power on the field. For the third game in a row, Knox managed to keep their opponent scoreless with a 6-0 win over the Beloit Buccaneers.

The women's soccer team brought the intensity immediately scoring four of their six goals in the first half of the match. The Fire did not hesitate to share the glory in goal scoring either. Their goals came from six different players, where Yvette Rodriguez got the ball rolling by scoring in the first five minutes of the game. She then assisted her teammate Kayla Brown for their second goal at the 21 minute mark. Brooklyn Deming and Melissa London also got their goals marked down in the books for the first half.

The Prairie Fire came out of halftime still hot. Corina Leyva and Alex Robertson put in the team's final goals in the 55th and 56th minutes, respectively. Although Knox did not add any more points on the board after that, they still remained aggressive and got numerous good looks at the net.

The Knox Women's Soccer team will be hungry for another win as they face Simpson College away, on Wednesday, September 27.
