GALESBURG, Illinois - The Knox College Volleyball team came up on the short end of their conference opener against Illinois College. Knox (9-9, 0-1 MWC) dropped the first two sets of the match 25-16 and 25-18, respectively. In an exciting comeback attempt, the Fire took the third set 27-25; but IC was too much for them and took the fourth set 25-10.

Rose Griffin and Kyleigh Guthals led the attack for the fire with 16 and 12 kills, respectively. Emily Mosher facilitated the offense with 37 assists. On the defensive side, Mady Ferris had 28 digs and Jeanette Peebles earned 2 blocks.

Knox will look to get back even in the conference when they travel to Lake Forest College on September 30.
