Women's Soccer Remains Perfect in Conference

BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Knox College Prairie Fire women's soccer team defeated Beloit in an exciting match. Their victory today marked their fifth win as they remain perfect in conference play (9-3-2, 5-0-0 MWC).

The Prairie Fire struck early as Lydia Mitchell scored her fifth goal of the season on an assist from Brooklyn Deming in the sixth minute. Mitchell was able to hit a great corner to Emma McCormick, giving Knox the 2-0 lead in the second half. Late in the game the Bucs converted on a set-piece of their own, but the Prairie Fire held on for the win.

Knox outshot the Bucs 16-10 on the day and held an 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.  In addition, senior goalkeeper Sierra Daniger had a total of five saves in the game.

"Excited with the win on the road against a good Beloit side," said head coach Chris Haught-Thompson. "Now it is time to shift our focus to Lake Forest."

The Prairie Fire play their next game against Lake Forest on Sunday, October 13.
