LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team lost to Lake Forest 1-0 on Sunday to drop their first conference match of the season.

Knox (9-4-2, 5-1-0 MWC) and the Foresters played to a scoreless tie through the first the first 87 minutes, but Lake Forest broke trhough for a score in the 88
th minute and held on for the victory.

The Prairie Fire outshot the Foresters 18-6 on the day, including an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal. Knox was unable to convert as the Lake Forest goalkeeper saved all 11 of her chances.

The Prairie Fire still hold their own destiny in their hands as they lead the conference with 15 points and have a one-game lead over the four teams in second place. Knox also already has wins against three of the teams in second place.

The Prairie Fire will travel to Lawrence on October 20 to continue their run towards a third straight Midwest Conference regular season title.
