MONMOUTH, Illinois—The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped their final match of the season on Friday night at Monmouth.

After an early 7-7 tie in the first set, the Fighting Scots pulled away with 14 of the next 17 points to take a commanding lead. Monmouth held on for the 25-13 win in the first set.

Knox held a 6-4 lead at the beginning of the second set and, after a short rally by Monmouth, retained a 12-10 lead halfway through the set. After some more back-and-forth, Knox still held a 20-18 lead. The Fighting Scots stormed back and won the second set 25-23.

The third set was close once again with the two teams tied at 8-all in the early going. Knox took another 10-8 lead, but Monmouth used a small run to take a 13-11 lead. The Prairie Fire brought the score back to win one at 12-13, but the Fighting Scots jumped back out to a 17-12 lead and held on for the 25-17 victory.

Kylie Wolf led the Prairie Fire with 20 assists and Mady Ferris added 17 digs. Katie Anderson and Autumn Schneider each chipped in six kills. Anderson also picked up three aces and Schneider racked up four blocks.
