GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team moved into an even more dominant position in the Midwest Conference on Wednesday night. They recovered nicely after a loss their last time out and handily defeated Grinnell College 64-48.
Holding the Pioneers to just four points in the third quarter, along with outscoring them in each quarter allowed the Fire to cruise to victory. Morgan Potter led the way with 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks on the night. Karlie Thorn and Kyra Huffman added 11 and 10 points, respectively, and Hailey Leinart continued to come out strong off the bench dropping 13 points.
The win was the Prairie Fire's 15th of the season, which ties them for the most at Knox since the 1990-91 season. They also picked up their 10th conference victory, which matches the total by the 1996-97 squad.
The Fire will look to keep their momentum rolling into their road trip when they take on Beloit College on February 10.
